How can I build up my resume – I’m 18 and I have never had a job?

I never needed to get a job in high school and so now I have no work experience at all. And it sucks, and I know I was stupid for not getting a job when I was younger but I’m trying to find a solution.

What can I do to build up my resume? Most jobs, even retail jobs, wont take me because I have no experience.

What sort of job would you like to do? could you take a evening course in like IT at college?
or do some voluntary work, maybe at a primary school, charity shop, or do some babysitting?

Jobs where you got no pay because they were volunteer count. Hobbies count. Anything where you can document initiative counts. Working for family counts especially if the business is real and they had you come in when they needed you. Singing in choirs count. School clubs count. Any elective positions in school counts. Participating in fund raisers count.

The first ever resume can contain anything you have ever done if worded right. along with the regular parts of the resume.
leadership positions in clubs of groups ( assisted teacher with…), (member of…)
positions held in service organizations (girl scouts, alter server, collected cans for cheer leading)
    (active in…)
lead a group to museum, any field trip….(held a leadership role…)
    tutoring (instructed and mentored…)
baby sitting (responsible for the well-being and care of…)
helping grand-parents, aunts and uncles (developed and executed a plan that allowed…)
did you cut grass all last summer (regulated and maintained grounds)

Think of all the things you did and use correct and descriptive words to describe them.
