How long before graduation should you start a job search?

Two months before graduation I started my job search and I havent heard back from anyone in two weeks. I wonder if they can’t hire me because I haven’t graduated yet.

But I want to get a job before I graduate. Should I start looking one month before I graduate or is it a waste of time.
