What are valid reasons for rejecting a job offer when on unemployment?

Old job: day shift, benefits, full-time. Every potential job available: evening/overnight shift, no benefits, and/or less hours. Am I required to apply to these positions in order to continue receiving unemployment benefits if the pay is comparable? Those shifts and especially the lack of benefits would be a huge problem. Would rather hold out for something day shift with benefits even if it pays much less. Any advice?
