how do I write a resume without any job experience?

I have a lot of on-campus jobs to apply for coming up that would really be a great opportunity for me, but I need to submit a resume and cover letter. Over the past year I’ve assailed retail outlets and restaurants with job apps but the only thing that came to fruition was just two downhill interviews. So how the hell do I write a professional looking resume and cover letter when I have no job experience? Help would be great here ASAP :)

talk about summer activities and on campus activities – at your stage they need not be jobs. but emphasize any skills you gained or character traits you possess which might be useful in job (eg leadership, analytical skills, organization, resourcefulness)

1st do your homework…most interviewers love it when you’ve researched and show interest in the company. Think about the organizations you have been apart of; did you hold any leadership roles? Also, talk about the type of classes you’re taking and how the knowledge you gained will help you excel on the job.

Last but not least…bring recommendations from professors and regarded people in the community.

Look at what kind of extra-curricular activities you’ve done or babysitting work or volunteer work. You can still have a great resume even without having any job experiences. I offer useful advice for this situation on my website..

Focus on your education and extracurricular activities, as well as volunteer work if you have done any. In other words: list the things that show that you are responsible and hardworking. For example, treat a club that you belong to the same as you would a job– list your title/office (if applicable), your responsibilities and what you’ve accomplished.

    Good luck.
