As a benefits analyst, this book is an invaluable aide for me in developing business plans and corresponding Plans for Achieving Self Support. Dave and Cary take a very complex subject and reduce it to its most simple components. Chapter 6 in particular clearly identifies the complex relationship between PASS plans and business plans. The section in Chapter six on “two sets of books”, alone is more than worth the price of the book. Thank you David and Cary – outstanding effort-someone had to do it – you did!!!!

This book is vaguley geared to thoose with disabilites. I would find this useful if I was in a wheel chair or had another obstacle. However having a pain disorder the book read to me of that of “NORMAL” healthy people. Wasted my limited money.

I have not only read Cary and Daves book I have successfully implemented these strategies to support people with a wide range of disabilities to attain and succesfully maintain self-employment ventures. Thier ability to be inventive and to time and time again help the disability community move from scarcity thinking into economic development always amazes me.

This book is a must-have for anyone concerned about the state of employment for people with disabilities in America. Professionals, families and persons with disabilities would benefit tremendously from buying this book. Griffin and Hammis illuminate a whole new approach to developing, running and sustaining self-employment initiatives and do so with a flare for excellent writing. From systems change, to funding and social security work incentives, this book can make it easier for an entire section of our population to work, earn and live the American dream.
