what is the difference between a curriculum vitae and a resume?

the school I am applying to is asking for a curriculum vitae…..and i already have a perfectly cut out resume made….whats the difference?

also, since im aplying for post graduate dentist position at the school…the school only wants any volunteer/job experience during or after dental school…..since I have ALOT of experience at hospitals even before dental school, would it look bad (in terms of following directions) if i put that there also?

  1. JustChillin says:

A résumé, commonly written “resume”, is a document that contains a summary or listing of relevant job experience and education. It is closely related to a similar document, a curriculum vitae (CV)[1] which focuses more on education, publications, and other accomplishments. Both are typically used to screen applicants, often followed by an interview, when seeking employment. The résumé or CV is typically the first item that a potential employer encounters regarding the job seeker, and therefore a large amount of importance is often ascribed to it.
