Is a job resume addressed to a person like a letter is written?

I am applying for my first job, and I already have my personal details written out (name, address, email, phone number, etc.) What comes next? Do I begin right out with a paragraph (probably about my goals), or do I need to head it like a letter, such as, ‘Dear Employer’ or anything? Thanks for any help!

A resume should not be addressed to anybody. A resume is just a list of your accomplishments, work history, school data, etc.

A cover letter, on the other hand is addressed to the person who is doing the hiring, and it’s always better to get a name rather than just saying “Dear Employer”.

Google sample resumes and cover letters to see examples of what yours should look like.

no if you can find a resume template (im sure there are lots in google) then you can follow that format.. as a fresh graduate (which i assumed you are) it would be best to include seminars or organization you significantly took part on (say student council or candidate of any spelling bee or something) if none, what symposiums you have attended that is marketable and related with work you’re applying for (ex: career planning for students, business management or decision making) make it short but specific… along with your personal profile, you can include interest, trainings you attended, or organizations youve joined in..

you can inlude a letter when you are applying with a specfic company, meaning they invited you already for a job interview, that would be a nice and formal.. good luck ! :)
