If I get laid off from my primary job but still hold a part time job, can I collect unemployment?

I make about $45k at my primary job, and about $7k at my 2 night a week part time job. Am I able to collect unemployment on my primary job if I still work 2 nights a week at my 2nd job?

    NO

    You are still employed

No. You can only collect unemployment if you have no job.

Yes, but your benefit will be decreased by the earnings you have from your part-time job. In New York, if you make over $405 per week at your part-time job, you are eligible to collect nothing.

Yes you can. You can collect benifits even when you are employed at the same job and the your hours are reduced. Your benifits will be reduced somewhat but if you only make $7,000 a yr at your second job you can still collect.

It depends on where you live. Most states will allow you to collect unemployment that is calculated based on your lost wages from the primary job.

Sorry. Unemployment is for people who have no job whatsover. Unemployment is not that much money and the claim will eventually run out. So, it is best if these people work at part time jobs better then no job at all.
