In a job search how helpful will it be to have a friend working in the company I am trying into?

I am looking for a job change.Got a vacancy in a company where a friend of mine is working at a senior level. If I have a resume meeting the requirement then how helpful will it be to get into a job if the friend hands over my CV to the Hiring Manager?

YES!!! That is what you call networking. It would be very beneficial for you to proceed and I recommend that you do so as soon as possible for this opportunity. Now that’s a friend!

Some companies frown on friends or relatives working at the same company, while others don’t mind it. Personally, it is better to ask for the name of the hiring mgr and either see him / her for a moment and give them your resume or try to set up an appointment thru their secretary, not thru your friend

Well it will allow you get the names of the people who do the hiring, and a insight as to the company’s workings, so when it the interview, you can be up on the facts about the company, even go to there website and read up on the product or services they offer, as you going ot get questions like what do know about the company, and when they ask you about your prior experience you can relate that to your background.

I am a former chef, and when I use to go into a place for a position, I did my research, found out who the chef was, the type of menu, even had a meal there to see how the place ran.
