This “pamphlet” offers little if anything new and lacks depth … save your money and review an on-line transition page or keep searching for a book with substance … this book is just too general … I found myself asking “and?” only to be disappointed–the question was never answered.

I didn’t think I needed a “Road Map to Re-employment.” When my old way of job searching didn’t land the perfect job, I searched for help and took advantage of every resource that Rob Wolf and Paul Ferreri provided. Their 12 steps to re-employment forced me to be brutally honest and accountable for my job search performance. In less than 90 days, I accepted a position that I love, using my best skills and strengths. This book provides a proven workable method for getting a job. Follow the road map!

I have not read the book, but I know Rob, Paul and their networking course. Rob and Paul are personal money managers (stock-brokers) by trade. Every week, they teach a free 3-hour business networking class in Tampa, Sarasota and Orlando! They organized as Transitioning Professionals of Tampa Bay ([...]). Their boot camps concentrate the information into a few days.

Their course is 12-parts. I am sure the book arose from their course syllabus. Their course is a finishing school for job-seekers. It teaches practical advice that MBA schools don’t. The course shows you how to dress, write functional resumes and cover letters, set professional goals, meet people, give “elevator speeches,” define your unique skills, communicate what you love and work a business gathering. It gives each participant a chance to prepare, practice and improve their professional presentations. More importantly though, Rob and Paul teach how to meet new people, get to know people, find the ones who know the people, the ones who have the jobs!

I got my Technical Writer position at Ceelox, by following the Rob and Paul’s free networking training at TPT. Ceelox is a growing fingerprint biometrics and encryption developer. A referral from another IT professional at the Tampa Bay Technology Forum led my boss to my resume at the local chapter of the Society of Technical Communicators. Now I network with other Technical Writers and IT professionals I’ve met there and on LinkedIn.

Emailing hundreds of resumes doesn’t work. Getting to meet the people who have the jobs does. Rob and Paul show you how to do it.
