Beyond the attractions is NOT a stand alone Disney Guide - nor does it claim to be one (unlike the Fodor's Walt Disney World with Kids guide). Instead, it gives tips and ideas for how to plan a pleasant WDW vacation with little ones. The author does go through the attractions - but mainly the ones that would be good for this age group and the ones that sound appealing for this age group, but aren't really a good idea. The author's tips range from packing tips, to potty tips, to how to plan your day, to which resorts are good for little ones, to which restaurants might me appealing. But she doesn't tell you about every single restaurant or ride. She also leaves out water parks, as those really aren't necessary for little ones. She doesn't include Universal either. Her focus is on what works for ages 3-5 and her view (and I concur) is that all of that other stuff is just extra for that age group.

I think her guide is very useful. I wish I had it when I took my first WDW trip with my then 3 year old and then 4 year old. I purchased this book as I plan my next trip, this time with a preschooler and a Kindergartner (and a baby). I think that this Guide plus the Unofficial Guide (for information purposes, not really for touring plans - it's too commando style) are perfect for trip planning for kids in this age group. If you're contemplating the Fodor's Guide, honestly, this is a better bet. The Fodor's Guide also isn't a great all inclusive and the organization is terrible. This guide is better organized and more useful overall.
