It is unlikely that they will ask as much information as your age or grade level in school. Simply put, you should say something like: "Hello, my name is (John Doe). I (had an interview)/(submitted an application) for (the position) last week, and was calling to see if the position has yet been filled." If you insist on making the call anonymously, go to a location other than home to call (many businesses have caller ID). You can say, "I saw a (sign)/(advertisement) regarding hiring for (position).
